Rolling Thunder rolls through WashingtonDC on Memorial DayROLLING THUNDER®, INC. is an organisation who fights for the veteran's rights and the POW/MIA Meaning the Prisoners of War and those who are still Missing in Action.It was started in 1987 by Vietnam Veteran Artie Muller and a couple of his friends who got the idea of organizing a Motorcycle Ride to Washington DC to demonstrate for the veterans and and for freedom of all POW/MIAs The first ride was made at Memorial Day 1988 when over 2500 motortcycles drove into Washington DC Today it is a non-profit organization with members all over United States and a few abroad. Read more at RollingThunder1.com This year more than 100.000 motorcycles participated according to the NEWS site from the United States Department of Defense "WASHINGTON, May 28, 2006 More than 100,000 motorcycles carrying Vietnam veterans, current and former servicemembers, family members, and other supporters rattled the streets here today. The motorcyclists were participating in the Rolling Thunder XIX Ride for Freedom from the Pentagon parking lot to the National Mall.
