Oktoberfest Munich

The Oktoberfest in Munich started this weekend and last until Oktober 5th

This panorama is from last years festival.

Originally the Oktoberfest took place in Oktober and the first festival was held in 1810 to honor the Bavarian Crown Prince Ludwig’s marriage to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

The festivities started on Oktober 12 1810 and lasted until the 17th.

Apart from drinking the the „Maß” Oktoberfest Beer there are several events to see

The important must-see is the Oktoberfest Costume and Riflemen’s Parade.
