NIAGARA FALLS

The city of Niagara has only 78.000 inhabitants but every year the Niagara Falls attracts some 12 Million tourists. Niagara also has a status as a Wedding and Honeymoon town even if it can not beat Las Vegas reputation in this field. Over 50,000 honeymooners travel to Niagara Falls each year

It began over two hundred years ago when a well known couple related to the president spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls. In 1804, Napolean Bonaparte's younger brother Jerome took his new American wife to Niagara Falls and this is said to have started the tradition.

4000 hotel rooms are available on the American side but actually the Canadian side is the leading tourist attraction and has grown during the last 10 years from 5.000 rooms to an estimation of 13.000

Niagara Falls Ontario is located right across the river from the American Niagara Falls of New York and is said to have the best views of the Falls.

The Canadian side is also much more commercialized and tourist oriented than Niagara Falls New York. The new 368-room Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort — is currently the largest commercial development in Canada.
