BEIRUT, Lebanon, March 14 -

More than 800.000 thousands Lebanese were gathered Monday in the central part of Beirut, at the Martyr's Square to protest against the Syrian control of their country.

Lebanese from the four corners of Lebanon consisting of Christians, Muslisms, youngs and elderly were rubbing shoulders while walking the streets towards the famous Martyr's square.
This panorama is taken at the south-west exit of the Square. The modern white building hosts "The Nahar", one of the local newspapers.

Sidon MP Bahia Hariri, sister of the assassinated former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, was one of the speakers at the Martyr's Square.
