POLAR BEAR SWIM,

Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada

The Annual Polar Bear Swim takes place on January 1st. regardless of weather. Typical temperatures are air 0-5 C, and water 4-6 C. The swim is open to all, and volunteers supply refreshments.

It was raining heavily during this years swim. A Coast Guard boat is offshore.
