Moscow Historical Museum

The International Museum Day is held on 18 May.

This day many museums and historic-museum sites are open free-of-charge till late at night.

The panorama was made at the Historical Museum in Moscow.

The largest historic museum of Russia, the State Historical Museum, was built between 1875 till 1881. It is an impressive building in red bricks and with an interior decorated with murals, carvings and an impressive ceiling paintings

The resolution to celebrate International Museum Day was adopted during the 12th session of the General Assembly of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in Moscow in 1977.
